The art of LazyBackHome is an experiment, giving life to non-living things and treating living things as inaminate objects. In the past, the artist has approached her practice through the use of traditional myths, fables, and news as fictional narratives. Her work focuses on social events triggered by social media and she extracts cultural symbols from both Eastern and Western myths to weave new stories from a contemporary context. Her work satirizes the way fictional text shapes social structures, class, power, and individual behavior.

The sculpture “World Baby” uses a lot of wooden materials. Wood has a special life quality, but when it’s cut down to make tools, it loses its meaning as a “tree” and becomes an object. This represents a transformation from “organic” to “inorganic.” The sculpture also features a uterus shape made from resin, symbolizing the shift from organic life to synthetic creation. “World Baby” reflects today’s obsession with synthetic materials and the neglect of organic life.
